The National Arts and Cultural Crafts Association of Uganda (NACCAU) spearheaded an empowering two-day training workshop handling beadwork making and tailoring. This initiative aimed to equip the women and youth associated with the She Crafts organization with the necessary skills and knowledge for fostering economic independence and creative entrepreneurship within their community. She Crafts Women’s Group is an organization dedicated to empowering women and youth through craft-making and entrepreneurship. With funding from Voice, the training started on April 24 and 25, 2024, and ended successfully.
The training sessions meticulously addressed a bead and tailoring sessions.Trainers from NACCAU guided participants through hands-on workshops, sharing valuable insights and experiencesOne focal point of the training was the creativity and passion of handcrafts, ensuring long-term consistency and growth.
Moreover, the training emphasized the significance of market research and product development. Participants were encouraged to explore market trends, identify niche opportunities, and innovate in their craft-making processes, fostering a culture of creativity and adaptability. Beyond technical skills, the training also underscored the importance of self-confidence and assertiveness. Through interactive sessions and group activities, participants embraced their potential, overcame self-limiting beliefs, and assertively pursued their goals, fostering a supportive community conducive to learning.
The impact of the training extended far beyond the two-day session. Armed with newfound knowledge and skills, participants emerged as catalysts for change within their communities, creating ripple effects of positive transformation. As the training program concluded, a palpable sense of optimism and determination lingered.
