NACCAU

NACCAU stands for the National Arts and Cultural Crafts Association of Uganda. This vibrant organization preserves and promotes Uganda’s rich heritage of traditional arts and crafts. Founded in 1993, it has created a central platform where artisans, craft makers, and artists from across the country showcase their talents, share knowledge, and protect Uganda’s cultural identity.

Since then, it has grown into a thriving hub for artists and craft practitioners. It offers them opportunities to market their products locally and internationally. The association supports artisans by providing training, mentorship, and resources that improve the quality, creativity, and marketability of their work. Through workshops and capacity-building programs, it empowers craftspeople with modern skills while preserving traditional techniques for future generations.

It connects Uganda’s cultural heritage to the global marketplace. It promotes Ugandan crafts to worldwide audiences by participating in local exhibitions, regional trade fairs, and international craft shows. In doing so, NACCAU creates sustainable income opportunities for artisans and strengthens the country’s cultural tourism.

Beyond its economic role, NACCAU actively contributes to cultural education. It collaborates with schools, communities, and cultural institutions to raise awareness about Uganda’s artistic traditions. Its efforts nurture pride in cultural identity among Ugandans while showcasing the beauty and diversity of Ugandan arts and crafts to visitors.

Driven by dedication and passion, NACCAU remains a cornerstone in preserving and celebrating Uganda’s cultural crafts, keeping these timeless traditions vibrant and relevant in a changing world.
